Savannah- Edwin Anthony Parker, age 74, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006. He was a native of Screven County and was a longtime resident of Savannah. Mr. Parker was a member of Isle of Hope Baptist Church, the German Country Club and the American Legion. He retired in 1992 as Director of Field Operations for the United States Postal Service for the Savannah area, after forty-one years of service.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Reva Black Parker of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dale and Jimmy Parker and Cindy and Roddie Robinett, all of Savannah; four grandchildren, Taylor Parker, Parker Robinett, Tyler Robinett, and Mallory Robinett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Myron R. Fields officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:30 pm in Screven Memorial Gardens in Sylvania, GA.
Pallbearers will be Paul Black, Jeff Black, Trey Daniell, Bill Black, Bobby Robinett and Dale Mock.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or a favorite charity.
